Jennifer Richello DNP, PMHNP-BC, APRN
I specialize in medication management and therapy services for the treatment of PTSD Trauma, Depression, Anxiety, Bipolar, OCD, and Anger Management for individuals aged 18 and older in Connecticut via telehealth only.
I do NOT prescribe controlled medications.
Hi, my name is Jen! I am a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and received my Clinical Doctor of Nursing Practice degree from Robert Morris University in Pittsburgh, PA in 2021.
I combine traditional psychiatric care with complementary and holistic therapies, offering personalized treatment that helps you gain a deeper understanding of your symptoms. I use evidence-based practices incorporating functional and integrative medicine to address your physical and emotional well-being. I also collaborate with your other providers and provide education on psychopharmacology and psychotherapy techniques to empower you to take an active role in your treatment.
I found that my approach is excellent for those who do not feel "heard" by other providers. I am very thorough, and I want to get to know my patients and help them identify the root causes of issues so they can take the steps to start healing. Many of my patients have complex trauma/PTSD with multiple medical conditions or other psychiatric conditions, like Bipolar, Anxiety, OCD, Depression, and many others. I am passionate about working with first responders, healthcare professionals, veterans, and minority populations.
My communication style is very direct, but my personality is very warm, down-to-earth, encouraging, motivating, energetic, and empathetic. I want my clients to feel comfortable talking with me about anything. I pride myself on my ability to listen without judgment and for my patients to leave an appointment feeling heard, understood, and encouraged.
I have been in medicine in various fields for over 24 years, working as a Veterinary Technician, EMS, Search and Rescue volunteer, Crisis Response, veteran advocate, and Registered N.urse. I have always had a passion for helping others. I am the biggest cheerleader and motivator, but I am also a straight shooter. Healing takes a lot of effort and work, but the reward of seeing my patients thrive makes the hard days worth it!
I want to empower you to take charge of your healing journey. I celebrate your progress as you develop coping skills and recognize when medication is genuinely needed. I aim to meet you where you are, encouraging you to embrace your path with renewed hope, resilience, and purpose. Over time, you will transform challenges into opportunities, embarking on a journey of profound self-discovery and empowerment.
During our first appointment, we are getting to know each other. I do not prescribe medications on the first visit. We will discuss your history and what brought you here, and together, make a plan to help you on your healing journey. I explain what medications can and cannot do and give my patients the knowledge to make informed decisions about their medical treatment. I want you to feel comfortable around the discussion of medications and that there is no "rush" for medications because healing takes time.
